Women's Track and Field Heads to Army Twilight, ECAC's

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University women's track and field team will prepare for two meets when a group of Bison will head to the Army Twilight meet in West Point, N.Y. before another group heads to IC4As in Princeton, N.J. on Saturday and Sunday.

- The women's team took fourth at the 2019 Outdoor Championships over the weekend, with two Bison earning individual titles in the field events.
- Maura Fiamoncini and Lexy Forrestal earned gold medals in the javelin and high jump, respectively.
- Fiamonconi broke her own Patriot League Championship record (168-2) to remain unbeaten on the season. She has now won the javelin title in each of her first two seasons in Lewisburg.
- Forrestal won the high jump (5-5) after beating out a talented field that included Bucknell school-record holder Taylor O'Brien, who took silver, and defending champion Jordan Otto from Lehigh. She was named the Bison Athlete of the Week for her efforts.
- Alexandra Butz also cleared 5-5 to take fourth.
- Kaitlin Salisbury took second in the 100 (11.93) for her highest-ever finish at the Outdoor Championships. She also placed third in the 200 (25.00) for her highest-ever showing in that event at the meet.
- Tia Tardy posted a personal-best in the 800 (2:10.21) to take second, which ranks as the fifth-fastest time in Bucknell history.
- The women's 4x800 squad also posted a strong finish to move into the fourth spot on Bucknell's all-time list (8:53.90). The team of Karly Forker, Gianna Mincone, Madeleine Hunt, and Tardy helped the Bison to a fourth-place finish overall.
- Payton Capes took fourth in the steeplechase (10:42.86) for a new personal-best that ranks fourth in Bucknell history.
- Jenna Farmer who was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team along with Harper Stewart, took second place in the event (36:38.15), smashing her previous personal-best of 37:36.92. Ashley Blair took third (36:43.45), while Colleen Buckley was sixth (37:48.87) as Bucknell scored 17 points in the event.
- Fiamoncini earned the title at ECAC's last season (176-11), over ten feet further than the silver medalist in the event. Taylor Oxley and Kasey Getkin also scored at the meet.
- Bucknell finished in the top ten for the third straight year.
- The 4x800 squad of Christine Bendzinski, Madeleine Hunt, Tardy, and Farmer earned runner-up honors, being narrowly edged by Cornell at the finish as both teams finished at 9:00.75)
- Qualifying Bison athletes will head to the NCAA East Preliminaries held in Jacksonville, Fla. on the campus of North Florida University from May 23-25.
