FINAL RESULTS
BEALLSVILLE, Md. -- Senior Katie Childers was one hole away from a terrific final round and a top-10 finish at the Hoya Invitational, but a tough final hole left her with a still-solid 4-over-par 76 and a T-11th finish at the Hoya Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday at Four Streams.Â
Bucknell posted a 324 team total, its best of the week, to finish in eighth place with a 986 composite.Â
Childers shot 76-78-76 over the last two days at the 54-hole event, leaving her one stroke outside the top 10. In her final round on Tuesday, Childers started with a birdie at the par-5 11th hole, she followed with eight straight pars, and then birdied No. 2 to get to 2-under on the day. She responded to a bogey at the third hole with another birdie at No. 4. She was even-par heading to her final hole -- the par-3 10th -- but a seven on the hole left her with a 76.Â
After a tough start, Casey Morrow player her final 12 holes in even par to shoot 79 and finish T-19th overall. Sun Woo Jeon carded a pair of birdies in her final-round 80, and the Bison also counted an 89 from Eunbbie Kim.Â
Host Georgetown won the tournament with a 906 total, which was eight shots better than runner-up Ball State. Akron (915), Richmond (917) and St. John's (927) rounded out the top five.
Christina Parsells was medalist with a 2-over total of 218 (71-73-74). She edged Danielle Nicholson of Akron by one shot. Jessie Kweon of St. John's had the round of the day with a 1-under 71.Â
Next up for Bucknell is the Hartford Hawks Invitational Apr. 13-14 at Tumble Brook Country Club.Â
