About the Bison

Bucknell joins three other Connecticut teams this weekend for the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Tumble Brook Country Club. The Bison will go up against Fairfield, Quinnipiac and host Hartford.
Seven Bison will be on the course. The five-person lineup conists of Katie Childers, Casey Morrow, Erin Holmes, Meredith Langs, and Sally Sohn. Morgan Hennessy and Sun Woo Jeon will play as individuals.
Last time out, Bucknell posted rounds of 327-335-324 in an eighth-place finish at Georgetown's Hoya Invitational. Holmes, Langs and Sohn, who have been regulars in the Bison lineup, had the weekend off.
Childers boasts a team-best scoring average of 76.6 for the spring and 76.3 overall. Langs (78.4) and Holmes (79.4) also have sub-80 spring averages.
The Bison are coming off a tremendous fall season in which they competed in five tournaments and set a school record with a 310.1 team scoring average. The previous mark was 312.0 by the 2011-12 squad.
Bucknell chopped more than nine strokes off its average from last season, and one of the reasons was significant improvement throughout the lineup. The Bison only had to count a score in the 80s five times in 15 rounds in the fall
Also setting a fall scoring record was Childers with a 76.1 average in 15 rounds. The senior bettered the record of 76.8, set last season by former teammate Lindsay Dodovich.
Along with Childers, Morrow (76.7), Holmes (78.7), Sohn (79.5) and Langs (79.9) gave Bucknell five players with fall averages in the 70s for the first time in team history.

The Bison at the Hartford Hawks Invitational

This is Bucknell's third appearance in Hartford's tournament, but the first since the spring of 2001.
The Bison placed fifth of 14 teams in 2000 and third among 10 teams in 2001.

This is Bucknell's final competitive tuneup prior to the Patriot League Championship, which will be staged at Independence GC in Midlothian , Va., on Apr. 20-21.
