"We generally take a low key approach to the Penn Relays because of our league meet being a week later and final exams starting next week," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "We must make sure we do not compromise anyone academically and we want to make sure we remain healthy for leagues so we do not take any risks. With that said, we are taking a few worthy field event women that are ready for some big marks and two male relay teams that will represent us well. Our 4 x 100 relay made the Eastern final last year and took 2nd. This is the first time in many years that Bucknell is represented in a Championship of America section in the DMR and this team is very excited to run on the big stage. All four men are running as well as they ever have and we plan to represent Bucknell and prove that we belong."

- A small group of Bison will compete at the prestigious Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday, with Abby Whitaker (shot put), Kasey Getkin (javelin) and Molly Montalvo (hammer throw) looking to set high marks.Â
- Montalvo and Whitaker will compete on Thursday, while Getkin is scheduled to compete on Friday. Â
- This year's edition of the Penn Relays will be the 125th anniversary of the event, with the meet originating in 1895.Â
- The Bison totaled seven wins over the weekend at the Bucknell Team Challenge, including a school record by Bison Athlete of the Week Taylor O'Brien.Â
- O'Brien surpassed the previous school-record of 5-7 after clearing 5-7 ¼. The record had stood since Amy Mantush set the mark in 2007, and was tied in 2018 by Lauren Hudson.Â
- O'Brien's mark is the highest in the Patriot League this season, with teammate Alexandra Butz holding the second-highest jump (5-5 ¼) in the Patriot League this season.Â
- Tia Tardy was first in the 800 (2:12.00), along with Kaitlin Salisbury in the 100 (12.11)
- In the throws, Delia Sipe won the shot put (44-8), while Molly Montalvo won the hammer throw (171-0).Â
- Maura Fiamoncini won the javelin with a season-best of 168-7, and earned her third Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week award for her efforts.Â
- The 4x100 team of Gianna Macones, Becca Rooney, Michaela Bracken, and Salisbury moved into the ninth spot on Bucknell's all-time list on Saturday in finishing second (47.89).Â
-  Last year at the Penn Relays, Fiamoncini was narrowly edged on the final throw in the javelin by Kylee Carter of Auburn to finish in second (176-11). Carter threw 179-8 on her final attempt to take first place. Â
- Montalvo also competed at the Penn Relays last season, posting a solid throw of 171-3. She then went on to post her personal-best throw of 179-0 at the Maroon and Gold Invite, which still stands as the fourth-ranked throw in school history.Â
