No. 24 Women's Water Polo Heads to D.C. for Three Matches

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The No. 25 Bucknell University women's water polo team will head to George Washington for three games against CWPA rivals on Saturday and Sunday.
The games will not count toward the CWPA standings, but will provide a test against fellow CWPA competition, with Bucknell only playing one CWPA game to date. Bucknell's only CWPA contest so far was back on March 3 in a narrow 8-6 loss at then-No. 15 Harvard.

- The Bison are coming off their most difficult stretch of the year, with seven games in its last ten coming against opponents who were either ranked or receiving votes at the time.
- Bucknell was competitive in those games, defeating No. 19 San Jose State on a sudden death goal by Nina Benson with 1:45 to go in the seventh period of play.
- Bucknell also defeated Cal State East Bay in overtime on the same day, the first time the Bison have posted two consecutive overtime victories since 2007.
- Ally Furano scored four goals in the win over San Jose State, while Georgia Lewis posted a season-high 12 saves against the Spartans.
- The one-goal win was the first for Bucknell since defeating Harvard 9-8 on April 14, 2018.
- Emily Konishi is now up to 341 career points for the Orange and Blue, up to third on the all-time list. She is also second on the all-time assist list with 168.
- A. Furano has posted huge numbers for the Bison in her sophomore season. The Stamford, Conn. Native has posted 86 goals and 36 assists for a total of 122 points, already the third-most by a Bison player in a single-season in history. Furano's goal total is also the highest for a single-season in Bucknell history, with the next closest mark being 75 by Aubrey Rowe in the 2009 season. A. Furano also needs just 31 more points to reach No. 15 on Bucknell's all-time points list in just her second season.
- Kali Hyham has drawn 50 ejections this season, just 11 shy of making it onto the all-time list at Bucknell at No. 15.
- The Bison will play three games in Washington D.C. for the first time since the 2016 season.
