Fiamoncini Named Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Maura Fiamoncini has won the Patriot League Female Field Athlete of the Week award for the week ending March 24 for a first-place performance at the Penn Challenge on Saturday, March 23.
Fiamoncini beat out a field of 18 competitors in the event, tossing 158-8 to easily qualify for the ECAC standard by over 23 feet. The award marks the third time that Fiamoncini has won the Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week in her career, and is the top mark in the Patriot League by nearly 15 feet.
Fiamoncini's throw currently ranks 21st in the nation to date this season.
Fiamoncini and the Bison will return to action at two different meets this weekend, with a group competing at the Raleigh Relays on Friday, before another group heads to the Jim Taylor Invitational in Selinsgrove, Pa. on Saturday.
