- Bucknell is coming off a 2-2 weekend, going 1-1 in two-game sets at Army and at Holy Cross on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
- The Bison picked up their first conference win of the season in game two against Army, the preseason Patriot League favorite.
- After dropping the first game 11-1, the Bison rebounded with a 2-0 win in game two, thanks in large part to a solid 1-2 punch on the mound with Nate Grisius and Hunter Robichaux.
- Grisius tossed seven innings while allowing just two hits and striking out four for his second win of the 2019 campaign.
- Robichaux earned his first save of the year after tossing two scoreless innings and retiring all six Army batters, four of them by strikeout, in order to seal the win for Bucknell.
- Robichaux's save was the second of his career. Robichaux's other career save also came in West Point in a 5-1 Bison win on March 31, 2018. The Dallas, Texas native allowed just a single hit with three strikeouts to help Bucknell hold on for the victory.
- Miles Moore delivered four RBIs over the weekend, with all four coming against the Crusaders on Sunday.
- Moore is now hitting .271 after a week in which he hit .318 with two doubles and his second career triple.
- Dominic Toso also had a solid six-game stretch in which he batted .348 with eight hits, including two doubles and a triple.
- Jeff Gottesman struck out a season-high eight batters against Holy Cross in game one, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up just one walk and throwing 113 pitches overall.
- Brenden Tuttle came in to provide the final out with Holy Cross pulling to within 8-4 in the seventh, striking out the final Crusader batter to help Bucknell hold on.
- The win for Gottesman was his 12th career win, just three shy of moving into a tie for tenth-most in Bucknell history. Gottesman also moved into a tie for 13th in strikeouts over the weekend with 148 career K's.
- The Bison own a 7-20 record all-time against the Wildcats, with the two teams first meeting in 1899.
- Bucknell did go 1-1 against Villanova last season in Kissimmee, Fla., dropping the first game 6-4 before an 11-1 victory in game two.
- Moore was at it again in that game, hitting a three-run shot that scored JohnPaul Bell and Toso to give Bucknell a 3-0 lead.
- The Bison eventually ran that lead to 10-0 before the Wildcats managed a solo home run in the seventh for its only run of the game.
- Toso was 2-for-3 with two RBIs in that game, while Bell also finished 2-for-4 from the plate with two RBIs.
- The Bison will play their first Patriot League games at home when they host Army for three games. The Bison will play a doubleheader starting at noon on Saturday before a single game on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
