Men's Golf Defeats Colgate 3.5 to 1.5 in Match Play Event

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- A singles win from freshman Carter Cook along with two wins and a halve in the fourball matches gave the Bucknell men's golf team a 3.5-1.5 victory over Colgate in a match-play dual on Sunday afternoon at the Bucknell Golf Club.

Cook took on two Colgate players for a half-point each, and the Bison rookie won them both. He dispatched Curran Gimeson 7&6 and defeated Connor Scannell 2&1.

There were four fourball matches worth one point each, and the Bison claimed 2.5 of the possible four points. Bucknell's top pairing of J.P. Raftery and Peter Bradbeer halved their tilt with Quinn McGinley and Ryan Skae. But the tandems of Jubal Early/Chris Tanabe and Ashton Radvansky/Jason Lohwater were both victorious.

Radvansky and Lohwater were dominant in a 6&5 win over Freddie Sexton and Deean Naime, while Early and Tanabe went the distance in a 1-up verdict over Andrew Huber and Alejandro Soto.

Colgate's win came from Alex Morrison and Andrew Lombardo, 5&4 over Dylan Ford and John Kalavritinos.

Next up for the Bison is the Coca-Cola of the Lehigh Valley Invitational, hosted by Lafayette at the Steel Club next Sunday and Monday.
