2/4/2019 9:46:00 PM | Men's Tennis
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Ryan Jurist wrapped up a 3-0 weekend in singles while leading Bucknell men's tennis to a 4-3 win over Siena on Sunday. The Bison went 1-2 on the weekend road trip to New York, including a 4-3 loss to Hofstra and a 5-2 loss to Marist.
Jurist posted wins over Hofstra's Julien Wolfe, Marist's Kian Yazdi, and Siena's Matt Bellino. The freshman played the first match on court four and the second two on court five. The match against Wolfe was the closest of the three, with Jurist winning 1-6, 6-4, 10-4.
Adding singles victories for Bucknell against Siena were Ethan Jacobs on court one, Max Garramone on court four, and Drew Krantz on court six.
Jacobs and Krantz went 2-1 in singles on the weekend.
Seniors Max McDonald and Andrei Vitiuc teamed up for two matches in doubles and won both. They were 7-6 winners on court one against both Hofstra and Marist.
"It was nice to get our first win of the season, but it will be even better to get the entire team healthy and ready to compete in two weeks," Bucknell head coach Bruce Myers said. "Full marks to the guys who gutted it out over the weekend. We saw really positive things from Ryan Jurist and Drew Krantz."
The Bison will play La Salle at the Hershey Racquet Club on Friday, Feb. 15.
