LYNCHBURG, Va. – Lauren Lichtenwalner and Raeanne Geffert combined on a shutout while pitching Bucknell past Princeton, 3-0, on Saturday in the team's second game of the Liberty Softball Challenge. The Bison improved to 3-4 overall and 2-0 at the event, while the Tigers fell to 1-1.

Lichtenwalner started the game and pitched four scoreless innings, giving up three hits and two walks. Geffert was dominant in relief while picking up the win. She struck out seven batters, allowed one hit, and didn't issue a walk.

Bucknell broke a scoreless tie with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Allyse Volpe singled in Tara Baglivo for the go-ahead run with one out. Baglivo, a pinch-runner after a double by Ava Fairbanks, was on third after a single by Nicole Rivait. Marisa Alemany would later plate Rivait with a sacrifice fly to make the score 2-0.

The Bison added an insurance run in the sixth inning when Bella DeRiso scored on a single by Baglivo. DeRiso was on base after entering as a pinch-runner following a single by Taylor Wolfgang.

Bucknell finished with seven hits, led by a single and double by Fairbanks. Anna Gimmestad had a double.

The Liberty Softball Challenge wraps up on Sunday and includes two games for Bucknell. The Bison will play Delaware State at 4:30 p.m. and Liberty at 6:30 p.m.
