Bison Celebrate Seniors
• Before Saturday's dual against Columbia, the Bison will recognize seniors Christian Bassolino, Ben Bliss, Kyle Greene, D.J. Hollingshead, Mike Macklin, Andrew Millsap, Frank Satriale and Nick Stephani.
• These seniors combined for 130 victories in a Bucknell singlet. In addition, they have excelled in the classroom, combining for a 3.39 grade point average.
• Bassolino (157), Hollingshead (165) and Stephani (174) represented the Bison at the 2018 EIWA Championships. At the 2017 EIWA Championships, Hollingshead competed up a weight class at 174 pounds.
• Bucknell is currently 6-10 (4-6 EIWA). On Feb. 15, the Bison were clipped at Binghamton, 25-17, despite Drew Phipps's (197) 20th victory and Zach Hartman's (157) ninth pin of the season.
• Entering the final weekend of the regular season, the Bison have used 19 starters in dual competition. Three wrestlers have started every dual thus far: Hartman (157), D.J. Hollingshead (165) and Phipps (197).
• Hartman (22-5), Phipps (20-7) and Jacob Ferreira (15-11) have all reached the 15-win plateau. Hartman and Phipps are also tied for the team lead with 13 dual victories, each at 13-3.
• Hartman remains unbeaten in EIWA dual action at 10-0. Phipps boasts a 9-1 mark and Jakob Campbell (125) a 7-3 ledger.
• Hartman is the team leader in pins (9) while Phipps has paced the Bison in major decisions (5). Phipps, Geo Barzona (125) and David Campbell (133) are the only Bison who have posted at least one fall, one technical fall and one major decision this season.
• Phipps is currently riding a 10-bout winning streak, the longest posted by a Bison this season. Over that stretch, he collected bonus points in four bouts, with two technical falls and two major decisions.
• Bucknell's captains are D. Campbell, Garrett Hoffman, Phipps, Nick Stephani and Brandon Stokes.
• In 2018-19, the Bison returned one NCAA qualifier and three EIWA placewinners. Hoffman (184) earned an at-large bid to the 2017 NCAA Championships, where he bowed out after two bouts. D. Campbell (133) and Phipps (184) each took eighth at the 2018 EIWA Championships while Joey Gould (133) was eighth at the 2017 rendition. All but Campbell have since changed weight classes.
 • In 2017-18, Bucknell battled injuries and used 22 different starters in dual competition, ultimately finishing with a 3-14 (2-7 EIWA) ledger. The performance of 141-pounder Tyler Smith, one of six seniors lost to graduation, was a bright spot; he became the program's fifth four-time NCAA qualifier and seventh EIWA runner-up.
• The Bison enjoyed one of their most successful stretches in program history from 2014 to 2017, compiling a combined record of 39-14 (23-5 EIWA) and placing third at the 2016 and 2015 EIWA Championships.
• Head coach Dan Wirnsberger, who is in his 14th year at the helm, has a 119-125-2 record. He and Bob Ferraro, who led the Bison to a 169-175-6 record from 1974 to 1997, are the program's only head coaches to reach the 100-win plateau.
