Bucknell at a Glance
• Bucknell is currently 5-2 (4-2 Patriot League) after falling to Loyola, 187-108, on Nov. 23 in a battle of teams that entered the dual meet 5-1.
• Will Cadwallader was a standout performer for Bucknell against the Greyhounds, winning both boards. His score of 249.75 on the 3-meter board moved him to ninth in school history; meanwhile, his score of 253.12 on the 1-meter board would have been good for 10th in the Bison annals if he didn't already own the fourth spot (276.75).
• Bucknell's 5-2 start is its best since the 2013-14 campaign. That season, the Bison went 5-1 (4-0 Patriot League) in their first six duals en route to a 7-3 (5-1 Patriot League) record.
• In 2018-19, Bucknell went 3-5 (3-4 Patriot League). The Bison went on to place third (397 points) at the 10-team Patriot League Championships and fourth (313 points) at the 24-team ECAC Championships.
• Chadd Cummings (2nd), Charlie McFarland (2nd) and Matt McGoey (2nd) were Bucknell's 2019 All-Patriot League honorees. McGoey made the All-Patriot League Second Team for the second year in a row.
• Of Bucknell's 2019 All-Patriot League selections, Cummings and McFarland were lost to graduation.
• McGoey is the lone returning individual school record holder; he owns the Bison standard in the 200 IM (1:47.84).
• Returnees Jacob Lubinski (400 medley), McGoey (200 freestyle), Liam Pitt (200 medley, 200 freestyle) and Jack Rose (200 medley) were members of school record setting relay teams.
• The Bison are very young in 2019-20, featuring a roster with 27 underclassmen. They have only two seniors: McGoey and Michael Park.
• The program welcomed nine newcomers in 2019-20. They hail from five different states: California (4), New York (2), Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Additions to Bucknell's Top-10 List During the Loyola Meet
• Will Cadwallader - 9th in the 3-meter dive (249.75)
A Look Back at the 2018 Bucknell Invitational
• The Bison welcomed Davidson, Fordham, Georgetown, La Salle, Old Dominion and Towson to Kinney Natatorium for the 2018 edition of the Bucknell Invitational, which has been held every season since the 2011-12 campaign.Â
• Bucknell took sixth with 777.5 points while Towson won the team title with 1,384.5.
• The Bison's top individual finisher was Chadd Cummings, who took second in the 200 breaststroke. Along with his runner-up finish, he placed third in the 100 breaststroke and swam the second leg of the second-place 200 medley relay team on Saturday. On Friday, he was a member of two fourth-place relay teams.
• Like Cummings, Liam Pitt had a strong Bucknell Invitational. The freshman reached the 'A' finals in three individual events and posted Bucknell's 10th fastest time in the 50 freestyle (20.82); he was also on the same three relay teams as Cummings.
A Look Ahead
• The Bison return to action in the New Year by hosting Johns Hopkins on Friday, Jan. 10 at 2 p.m.
