About Virginia
• Virginia is under the leadership of second-year head coach Tina Thompson, who led the Cavaliers to 12 victories and a win over Boston College in the opening round of the ACC tournament last season.
• The Cavaliers will rely on Preseason All-ACC senior guard Jocelyn Willoughby, who averaged 14.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game last season.
• Virginia welcomes five freshmen to the roster this season, as well as redshirt freshman Amandie Toi. The Cavaliers also welcome back four returning seniors.
• The Cavaliers as a team are predicted to finish 11th in the official Blue Ribbon Panel Preseason Poll and 12th in the coaches poll.
