BALTIMORE – The Bucknell men's swimming & diving team was clipped at Loyola, 187-108, on Saturday in a battle of 5-1 teams.
The Greyhounds improved to 6-1 (5-1 Patriot League) while the Bison fell to 5-2 (4-2 Patriot League) with today's results. Bucknell's 5-2 start is its best since the 2013-14 campaign; that season, the Bison went 5-1 (4-0 Patriot League) in their first seven duals en route to a 7-3 (5-1 Patriot League) record.
Will Cadwallader was a standout performer for Bucknell, winning both boards. His score of 249.75 on the 3-meter board moved him to ninth in school history; meanwhile, his score of 253.12 on the 1-meter board would have been good for 10th in the Bison annals if he didn't already own the fourth spot (276.75).
Beyond Cadwallader, Leo Kuyl (50 freestyle) and Carter Weiland (200 IM) scored individual victories. Kuyl also teamed with Christian Stef, Alan Flower and Matt Mills for a first-place showing in the 400 freestyle relay.
The Bison went 1-2-3 in the 200 IM and 400 freestyle relay. They next host the Bucknell Invitational on Dec. 6-8 at Kinney Natatorium. A select number of Bison will attend the U.S. Open from Dec. 5-7.
