About the Bison
- Bucknell returns to action for the first time since a 16-10 win over La Salle on Sept. 22.
- The three-week hiatus will be the longest in program history, as the team has never gone longer than two weekends without a game during the regular season.
- The Bison will head into the games with momentum, winning three straight games over Mercyhurst, Wagner, and La Salle to close the Bucknell Invitational.
- Bucknell played well defensively against the Lakers, allowing just one goal in a game for the first time since defeating Fordham 10-1 in 2015.
- The Bison continued that momentum with a rousing 17-5 win over Wagner in its first MAWPC win of the season. Bucknell scored 14 of the next 15 goals to break open a 3-2 score and take a 17-3 lead in the game.
- Senior Rade Joksimovic recorded seven goals and three assists for a season-high ten points in the win over the Seahawks.
- Over the weekend, Joksimovic moved past 600 career points, and continues to stand second all-time (603) behind Scott Schulte, who owns the Bucknell career record with 842 points.
- Joksimovic reached 50 goals this season at the Bucknell Invitational, and now stands at 438 career goals. His next game for Bucknell will also be his 100th appearance for the Orange and Blue.
- Freshman goalie Adrien Touzot, after earning his first career start against the Lakers and allowing just one goal, followed that performance up with a superb game against the Seahawks in the 17-5 win. The five goals were the second-fewest scored by Wagner in a game this season.
- Touzot made 20 saves, four shy of the single-game record by a Bucknell goalkeper set in 1995 by Zach Blixt against Slippery Rock.
- Bucknell has now held its opponents to ten goals or fewer in five of its past seven games.
- Seniors Logan Schofield and Cooper Dolan both recorded their 100th career goals at the Bucknell Invitational.
- Schofield also moved into the second spot in the all-time Bucknell rankings in ejections drawn (230), passing Jeff Hagen's 226. Jack Else holds the career record with 312.
- Bucknell has managed to win its past three contests after its tournament-opening loss to Fordham by an average margin of ten goals.
- Andu Vlasceanu dished out a season-high seven assists in the win over La Salle, three shy of tying the program record and the most by a Bison player since Joksimovic notched eight assists in a win over Salem at the Bucknell Invite on Sept. 16 last season.
- Bucknell took two wins over the Blue Jays last season, including a thrilling 18-17 win in Baltimore in which Joksimovic and then-senior Marko Djordjevic scored a goal each in the final 4:49 after Bucknell trailed 17-16. Djordjevic's late winner came with just seconds on the clock.
- Bucknell has won six straight against the Blue Jays, and owns a 50-24 record in the all-time series.
- Logan Schofield tallied a career-best seven goals against the Blue Jays in that game to go along with two assists.
- Navy is currently 11-6 this season, and has won four out of its past five games.
- The Bison took both games against the Mids in 2018, winning in Annapolis, 12-8 before taking the home fixture, 15-7, on Nov. 4.
- Joksimovic scored six times and added two assists, while Schofield drew nine ejections in the win at Kinney Natatorium.
- The Bison will face George Washington for the first time since a heartbreaking loss to the Colonials in the MAWPC Championship game. Bucknell dropped a 20-9 decision to George Washington last season in D.C., but will play the Colonials this year at the St. James, a multipurpose athletics facility located in Springfield, Va.
- Bucknell did take the game at Kinney Natatorium last season, defeating the Colonials 13-12. The final two games between the two teams were decided by just one goal, and the two teams are also currently separated by just one spot in the national rankings. Five of the past seven matchups between the two teams have been decided by three goals or fewer.
- Bucknell is 54-17 all-time against GW, winning four out of the past six matchups.
Bucknell will travel to Cambridge, Mass. for four games as part of the Harvard Invitational from Oct. 19-20.
