No. 15 Men's Water Polo Goes 2-0 Against Johns Hopkins, Navy

BALTIMORE – The No. 15 Bucknell University men's water polo team defeated home standing Johns Hopkins 23-14 to earn its first MAWPC road win this season, and improve to 11-2 overall.
Bucknell also improves to 3-1 in MAWPC games, and has now won seven straight games against the Blue Jays. The 23 goals are a season-best for the Bison, who went 9-9 on powerplays.
After falling behind 2-0, Bucknell scored four straight to gain the lead, capped by two quick goals from senior Logan Schofield, and a goal each from fellow seniors Rade Joksimovic and Cooper Dolan. A goal apiece from Joksimovic and Andu Vlasceanu helped Bucknell take a 6-4 lead after one.
Bucknell followed the first period up with a big second quarter, scoring seven times as it raced out to a 13-8 halftime lead. Jared Stanley, Jack Lewis, and Matt Blackwell each posted goals in the frame.
After a goal from the Blue Jays' Jayden Kunwar opened the third period, two more quick goals from Schofield, who had a season-best six on the day, helped Bucknell take a 15-9 lead. The Bison eventually used the run to eventually take a seven-goal advantage, 18-11, entering the fourth period. Bucknell added five more goals in the fourth as it eventually cruised to a 23-14 victory.
Joksimovic finished with eight goals, which ties his season best. Logan Schofield also added a season-high six goals while drawing six ejections. Adrien Touzot made 12 saves in the cage for Bucknell while picking up a steal. Senior Cullen Jacuzzi added three assists.

Rade Joksimovic and Jared Stanley scored two goals each to help Bucknell to a 4-0 start in the game, scoring six goals in the period overall. After the 4-0 lead, the Mids finished the period outscoring Bucknell 4-2, and eventually pulled within one, 6-5 after scoring to open the second quarter.
After Navy cut the lead to 7-6, the Bison scored two straight, courtesy of Jack Lewis, to take a 9-6 lead heading into halftime. Two more goals by the Bison in the third and the fourth were enough, with Bucknell's final tally coming with 1:42 left in the game. Bucknell managed to limit the Mids to the six goals in the second half as it held on for the 11-10 win. The win for Bucknell was its second win by one goal this season, after a 20-19 win over No. 16 Cal Baptist on Sept. 7.
Bucknell now improves to 4-1 in conference games this season, and is on a five-game winning streak. The Bison will return to action on Sunday against George Washington in Springfield, Va.
