LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's swimming & diving team rolled past Binghamton, 174-121, on Saturday at Kinney Natatorium in its home opener.
The Bison (3-0, 2-0 PL) won 11 events en route to their victory over the Bearcats (2-1, 0-0, AE). Eight swimmers and one relay team combined to score those victories, with Abby Merriman (200 freestyle, 1,000 freestyle) and Maddie Hartigan (100 freestyle, 200 butterfly) winning two each.
Two members of Bucknell's first-place 200 medley relay team won individual events: Emma Hadley (100 backstroke) and Alexis Faria (100 butterfly). The Bison went 1-2-3 in three events: the 200 freestyle, the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Bucknell next travels to Annapolis, Md., the site of this season's Patriot League Championships, for a meet against American, Lafayette and Navy on Saturday, Nov. 9.
