Bucknell Men's Cross Country to Compete at Two Meets This Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University men's cross country team will return for its final tune-ups before the Patriot League Championships when a group of Bison travel to the Penn State National Open on Friday, Oct. 18. Another group will head to the Lafayette Invite on Saturday, Oct. 19.

About the Bison
- The Bison will return to action for the first time since competing at the Paul Short Run on Saturday, Oct. 5.
- Bucknell took 20th in the 44 team field, one of the largest meets in the country.
- The 20th-place finish is a six-spot improvement from the 26th-place showing in 2018.
- Senior Brian Dengler took the top time for the Bison, finishing 55th in the field of 323 in the Brown race (25:25.3).
- Dengler was followed by freshman Domenic Campagna, who was 81st overall. Riley Gardner (101st, 25:43.3), Terryl Ferrell (158th, 26:05.1), and Ryan Miele (175th, 26:11.7) rounded out the scorers for Bucknell.
- Bucknell took 20th in last season's Penn State National Invite in a loaded field that included six teams in the national rankings.
- Ten of the teams in last season's Penn State National Open were from Power Five conferences. Jake Stupak was Bucknell's top runner, taking 68th overall out of 206 runners (26:06).
- Connor McMenamin (107th), Dengler (138th), and Evan Minor (171st), rounded out the Bucknell scoring.
- Bucknell last competed at the Leopard Invitational on Oct. 14, 2017.
- Ben Littman was Bucknell's top finisher in that race, taking 16th in the field of 47. Matthew Vira (27th), Nick Pacelli (28th), and James Weissenborn (29th) also took part in the meet.
Bucknell will look ahead to the Patriot League Championships hosted by Colgate on Saturday, Nov. 2.
