Abaza Adds Singles Championship to Weekend Successes

RICHMOND, Va. – Junior Michael Abaza capped the Bison's weekend at the River City Tennis Open with a championship win in the F singles bracket. It was the second title the Bison won over the weekend including a doubles title on Saturday.
Abaza won 7-6, 6-0 against George Mason's Erick Rivas to win the title in his first tournament appearance this fall. Abaza won three singles matches between Friday and Saturday to reach the championship round.
The Bison also won a doubles title yesterday when Abaza and Ryan Jurist came out on top in the F doubles. In all, the tandem won three doubles matches on the weekend to secure the title.
The River City Open was the last tournament the Bison are scheduled to compete in this fall.
