• Senior Kaitlyn Slagus scored 20 points and freshman Taylor O'Brien added a career-high 13 as Bucknell held off upset-minded Lafayette 56-47 Saturday at the Kirby Sports Center.
• Led by O'Brien, Bucknell's bench scored half of the team's points and outscored Lafayette's bench 28-3. Tessa Brugler had a big game with seven points and seven rebounds. Marly Walls scored five points off the bench, while Ally Johnson added three.Â
• The teams battled to a 20-20 tie through two quarters, but Slagus scored 18 points in the second half to help the Bison pull away.
• Slagus and  O'Brien were efficient with their offense. Slagus was 7-of-12 from the field, 4-of-9 from beyond the arc, and 2-of-2 from the line. O'Brien was 5-of-8 from the field and 2-of-3 from long range.
• Lafayette's Natalie Kucowski posted a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds, but Bucknell held her to 6-of-15 shooting.
