LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men's tennis has four singles players and four doubles teams still in the winner's bracket after the first day of competition at the Bucknell Fall Invite on Friday. The three-day event continues at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Freshman Ethan Jacobs got his collegiate career off to a good start, beating Loyola's Skyler Gates 6-0, 6-3 in Flight 1 singles. Jacobs will play Howard's Karim Shokeir in the quarterfinal round.
The Bison have two players in Flight 2 that are still vying for a singles title. Sophomore Max Garramone was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Loyola's Charlie Shanker, while freshman Ryan Jurist made his collegiate debut and beat Howard's Kyle Martin 6-2, 6-0.
