Bison Won Three Singles Titles at the Tournament Last Season
Setting the Scene
What: Bucknell Fall Invite
When: Friday, Sept. 7 – Sunday, Sept. 9
Where: Lewisburg, Pa.
Teams: Bucknell, Colgate, Howard, Loyola, Mount St. Mary's
About the Bison
• The Bison open their fall season by hosting the Bucknell Fall Invite on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They will also play events at Saint Joseph's, Princeton, Temple, and Charlotte.
• In addition to the three-day tournament, Bucknell will host Dickinson for a match on Sunday at 3 p.m.
• Bucknell won three of the four singles flights at the Bucknell Fall Invite last season, but two were won by seniors that have now graduated. The fourth was current junior Colin Sacco, who is currently studying abroad.
• Senior Max McDonald was the runner-up in Flight 2 singles last season and has bumped up to Flight 1 this year. Sophomore Max Garramone was the runner-up in Flight 3 and has bumped up to Flight 2 this year.
• Sophomore Drew Krantz was one half of the doubles team that won the Flight 2 title last season. He teamed with the now graduated Timber Erskine.
• Also playing singles for Bucknell this weekend will be freshman Alex Pedrazzini (Flight 1), freshman Ethan Jacobs (Flight 1), freshman Cooper Bradshaw (Flight 2), freshman Ryan Jurist (Flight 2), sophomore Adrien Crastes (Flight 3), and Krantz (Flight 3).
• The Bison return three regular starters and two part-time starters from last year's team after graduating four seniors. Sacco had the top record of the returning players at 17-17 overall, while Garramone was right behind him at 12-13.
• Garramone also had a winning record in doubles at 11-8, but played just two matches alongside players on the current roster.
• McDonald was 14-14 in doubles, including a 4-4 record while teaming with Sacco.
Scouting the Opponents
• Colgate went 15-7 overall and 4-1 in the Patriot League last season. Scott Bickel was a Second Team All-Patriot League selection.
• Howard finished 1-15 overall and 1-3 in the MEAC last season.
• Loyola went 9-6 overall and 2-3 in the Patriot League last season.
• Mount St. Mary's finished 6-15 overall and 2-3 in the NEC.
