Richards Ranks Seventh in School History in Career Block Assists

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Bucknell volleyball went on the road and suffered a 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-14) defeat to Colgate in a Patriot League match Saturday at Cotterell Court. With two block assists in the match, junior Mimi Richards moved into seventh in program history with 238 during her three-year career.

Bucknell fell to 5-10 overall and 0-4 in the Patriot League. Colgate improved to 8-8 overall and 3-1 in the conference. The Raiders have shut out three straight league opponents, including Army West Point and Lafayette.

Richards, who has 53 block assists on the season, needs just two more to pass Katie Steele (1992-95) on the school's career list. She needs 26 to pass former teammate Erika Eastley (2013-16) for fifth.

Richards also had a solo block to finish with three total blocks on the day. Freshman Jennie Burke tallied two blocks and had two aces.

Jaelah Hutchison recorded nine kills and six total blocks for Colgate. Alex Stein totaled 18 kills and six digs.

The Bison will host Lehigh on Saturday, Oct. 6, and Lafayette on Sunday, Oct. 7.
