Volleyball Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Two Home Matches this Weekend

About the Bison
• Bucknell is 5-11 overall and 0-4 in the Patriot League following losses to Holy Cross and Colgate last weekend.
• Mimi Richards moved into seventh on Bucknell's career block assists list with 238. She needs just two more to pass Katie Steele (1992-95) for sixth and is only midway through her junior season.
• The Bison will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the program this weekend. The first varsity season was played in 1978. Terrie Grieb was the head coach, while Wendy Green and Sheryl Sauer served as team captains. The first win in program history came by a 3-1 score over Susquehanna in the third match of the season. The Bison also posted a 3-0 win over Scranton that season.
• Bucknell began play in the ECC in 1982 and started Patriot League play in 1990. The Bison won Patriot League titles in 1998 and 2000.
Scouting Lafayette
• Lafayette is 5-11 overall and 0-4 in the Patriot League following losses to American (3-0), Loyola (3-0), Colgate (3-0), and Army West Point (3-0).
• The Leopards won the title at the Lafayette Invitational earlier this season with wins over Delaware State, Hartford, and Fairleigh Dickinson.
• Lafayette is second in the Patriot League in aces, averaging 1.48/set.
Series History with Lafayette
• Bucknell leads 48-24 in the all-time series with Lafayette. The teams have played every year since the Bison started their program in 1978.
• The Bison swept the Leopards with 3-0 and 3-1 wins last season.
• Mimi Richards averaged 10.0 kills and 5.5 total blocks against the Leopards last season. Sophie Bullard tallied 16 kills, 14 digs, and two aces in the second match between the teams.
Scouting Lehigh
• Lehigh is 14-2 overall and 3-1 in the Patriot League after wins over Army West Point (3-2) and Holy Cross (3-2).
• All four of the Mountain Hawks' league matches have gone four sets, including a win over Loyola and a loss to Navy.
• Lehigh leads the Patriot League in blocks/set (2.60). Emily Poole ranks first in blocks/set (1.25) and hitting percentage (.374).

• Lehigh leads 48-27 in the all-time series with Bucknell. The teams have played every year since the Bison started their program in 1978.
