• The Brown Race will include four Patriot League teams. In addition to Bucknell, Lehigh, Lafayette, and Boston University will compete.
• Also competing are two nationally-ranked Division III teams in No. 19 Carnegie Mellon and No. 32 Swarthmore.
• Senior Colleen Buckley made her season debut last weekend and was Bucknell's top runner with a 24th-place finish out of 218 runners at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown. She was named the Patriot League Runner of the Week.
Bucknell at the Paul Short Run
• The Bison last ran at the Paul Short Run in 2016 and finished second behind Princeton in the team standings.
• Bucknell finished ahead of the three other Patriot League teams – Navy, Lafayette, and Colgate.
• Numerous current runners ran in that race, including Colleen Buckley (18th of 373), Anna Chiodo-Ortiz (29th), Margaret Thomson (41st), and Lauren Hazzard (48th).
Quote from Head Coach Kevin Donner
"Traditionally, we like to give our top runners this week off because of the high-intensity meet at Boston. The rest of our team will compete at Paul Short. It's a great course that hosts the Patriot League or Regional meets most years, so it's good to have people get familiar with the course. Traditionally, we have some athletes have breakout races at this meet and some have even earned a spot on our NCAA Regional team in the top seven. Being in the Brown race also allows our athletes to run their own race and not get out too hard, which can happen in a very large and competitive meet."
Weekly Awards Won by the Bison
• Patriot League Runner of the Week (2) – Payton Capes (9/11), Colleen Buckley (9/25)
• Patriot League Rookie of the Week (1) – Emily Deschler (9/11)
Up Next
• The Bison will run at the Penn State National Open on Friday, Oct. 12.
