Women's Golf Gets Going at Pinehurst

PINEHURST, N.C. -- Scoring conditions were difficult on day one of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate, and the Bucknell women's golf team sits in sixth place among eight teams after posting a 352 team score on Wednesday. Lindsay Dodovich led the Bison with an 81, which puts her in a tie for seventh on the individual leaderboard.
Dodovich birdied two of the four par-3 holes (5 and 13) at Pinehurst No. 8. She is eight shots off the lead and just five out of second place after 18 holes. Eastern Kentucky's Ragga Kristinsdottir carded a 1-over-par 73, which was the only sub-75 score in the field. Teammate Elsa Moberly is in second place with a 77.
Also for Bucknell, Katie Childers and Casey Morrow posted 88s, Meredith Langs 95 and Erin Holmes 96. Anna Dailey, playing as an individual, carded a solid 85 and is T-16. That was tied for the best score among the six unattached players.
Eastern Kentucky compiled a 315 team tally, which is good for an eight-shot lead over second-place Boston University. Another Patriot League squad, defending-champion Richmond, is third at 331, followed by Gonzaga (338), Louisiana-Monroe (341), Bucknell, Longwood (358) and Southern New Hampshire (399).
The second of three rounds gets underway Thursday morning with 9 a.m. tee times.
