Women's Golf Concludes Play at Kiawah Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- On a difficult scoring day across the field, the Bucknell women's golf team closed out the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic with a 324 team score at Oak Point GC, paced by a pair of 78s from Lindsay Dodovich and Katie Childers.
Bucknell posted a 966 total (325-317-324) over 54 holes and finished in 40th place in a stacked field. No team broke 300 in Tuesday's final round. College of Charleston (872), which fashioned a 9-under-par 279 in the second round, closed with a 305 for a seven-stroke win over Murray State.
Dodovich carded her third straight 78, shooting 39 on both sides on Tuesday. She tallied 12 pars and a birdie at the par-5 fourth hole. Her 244 total for the week was the best on the squad.
Childers' best round of the tournament was highlighted by a birdie at the par-3 seventh hole. She shot 38 on teh front nine and made nothing worse than bogey on the day.
Elsewhere for Bucknell, Casey Morrow posted an 82, Meredith Langs shot 86, and Erin Holmes finished with a 90.
Three players finished the tournament at 5-under: Murray State's Lucila Puente Rodriguez, Jacksonville State's Valentina Giraldo, and UNC Wilmington's Lyberty Anderson. Rodriguez's 68 was the low score in the field by four strokes.
Bucknell is back in action March 14-16 at the Pinehurst Women's Intercollegiate at Pinehurst #8.
