Bucknell's McGoey, Wyngowski Compete at USA Swimming Winter National Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Bucknell's Matt McGoey and Maggie Wyngowski competed at the prestigious USA Swimming Winter National Championships last week at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
McGoey swam the 200 IM and 400 IM while Wyngowski participated in the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke. The duo faced stiff competition at the long-course meet, which drew many of the United State's top swimmers. Olympic gold medalists such as Nathan Adrian, Katie Ledecky, Simone Manuel and Dana Vollmer were among the athletes who vied for titles in 14 different events over the course of the four-day period.
This was Wyngowsk's second-straight appearance at the USA Winter Nationals. Last year, she swam the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 breaststroke; in the 400 IM, she touched the wall in 4:19.84, .03 of a second faster than the school record at the time.
The full Bison men's and women's swimming & diving teams will return to action on Thursday, Dec. 20 at the FAU Invite in Boca Raton, Fla.
