Swim & Dive Closes 2018 at FAU Invite

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Bucknell swimming & diving teams closed 2018 at the FAU Invite on Thursday at the FAU Aquatic Center.
The two Bison squads combined for 12 top-five finishes at the meet, which wasn't scored and was attended by Campbell (women only), Colorado State (women only), FAU, Georgia Tech, Northeastern (women only), Old Dominion, Rice (women only), Indian River State (divers only).
Bucknell's top individual finishers were Julie Byrne (100 backstroke) and Matt McGoey (100 reversed IM), who each touched the wall second. The men's divers accounted for four top-five finishes, with Garrett Sommer taking fourth and Will Cadwallader finishing fifth on both boards.
Chadd Cummings added a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke while Maddie Hartigan was fifth in the 500 freestyle. In addition, four relay teams swam to top-five finishes, led by the third-place women's 300 freestyle relay squad of Abigail Rosenberg, Hartigan, Maura McManus and Steph Boyd.
The Bison, who attended the FAU Invite as part of their training trip to Boca Raton, next return to Kinney Natatorium to host Patriot League foes Loyola (Jan. 11, 4 p.m.) and Army West Point (Jan. 12, 1 p.m.).
