Kapp and Walls Earn Patriot League Weekly Honors

Kapp Was Voted the Player of the Week, While Walls Was Named the Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women's basketball swept the Patriot League weekly awards Monday after another blowout win, 80-59 over Rider on Saturday. Sophomore Abby Kapp was named the Player of the Week for the first time in her career, while freshman Marly Walls picked up her first career Rookie of the Week honor.

Kapp shot 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and scored a team-high 16 points in the win over the Broncs. She added three steals and one block. The sophomore is shooting 50 percent (31-62) from long range on the season and has multiple 3-pointers in nine of the team's 10 games.

Walls was a perfect 7-for-7 from the line on her way to a career-high 12 points against Rider. She added four rebounds and a steal.

Bucknell has won six straight games to improve to 8-2, its best 10-game record to start the season since 1986-87. The Bison host Youngstown State on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Nearly 1,000 local students will be in attendance for Education Day, which is presented by W&L Subaru.
