No. 17 Men's Water Polo Picks Up Win at Fordham

BRONX, N.Y.—The No. 17 Bucknell University men's water polo team earned a big MAWPC win, 14-8, on Saturday night at Fordham thanks to quick starts to either half to improve to 9-1 in conference matches this season.
The Bison improve to 18-6 overall this season after two wins in their last two outings.
Fordham struck early, netting the opening goal one minute into the game, but the Bison managed to score five of the next six goals throughout the quarter to push to a 5-2 lead after the first period.
Logan Schofield helped to jumpstart the run with a goal at the 5:38 mark to equalize, before drawing an ejection that led to a penalty shot scored by Rade Joksimovic.
Schofield added his second of the quarter at the 2:57 mark, before goals from Marko Djordjevic and Joksimovic helped the Bison to a three-goal advantage after one.
The Bison managed to retain the three-goal margin heading into the halftime break, with each team netting twice during the second period.
Bucknell led 7-4 at halftime.
Fordham pushed to tie the game early in the third period, scoring the first two goals to close to 7-6 at the 5:15 mark.
However, three consecutive goals from Jack Lewis, Rade Joksimovic, and Cullen Jacuzzi helped to keep the Bison at a safe distance throughout the third period.
Djordjevic and Lewis added one more goal each to close the third period, and the Bison found some breathing room heading into the fourth quarter leading 12-7.
The Bison finished out the game outscoring the Rams 2-1 in the fourth quarter to earn a 14-8 victory and their ninth win in ten tries in conference play this season.
Joksimovic led the scoring for the Bison, tallying four goals and three assists. Djordjevic added three goals and three assists, while Jack Lewis tied his season-high with four goals.
The Bison will have a week to prepare for their final two home matches vs. Navy and Johns Hopkins on Sunday, Nov. 4.
