Men's Golf Opens with 312 at Lehigh Invitational

FIRST-ROUND RESULTS
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Bison men's golf team battled cool, breezy conditions on the opening day of the Lehigh Invitational and opened the tournament with a 312 team score. Freshman Carter Cook made a team-high three birdies and led the way with a 4-over-par 76.
Also for Bucknell, Chris Tanabe and Peter Bradbeer both shot 78, Connor O'Brien shot 80, and Jason Lohwater carded an 82.
Monmouth was the only team in the field to break 300 in the tough scoring conditions. The Hawks posted a 295, followed by Siena (304), Colgate (305), St. John's (306), Navy (306) and Lehigh (306). Bucknell sits in 12th place with the 312.
Lehigh's Owen Quinn had the round of the day, a 4-under 68 that included four birdies and an eagle. Brendan Smith of Monmouth (-1) is the only other player in red numbers.
The second and final round of the 36-hole event is slated for Saturday morning.
