Friday's Meet is the Final Race Before the Patriot League Championships
Setting the Scene
What: Bison Tuneup
When: Friday, Oct. 19 – 5:15 p.m.
Where: Bucknell Cross Country Course (Lewisburg, Pa.)
Teams: Bucknell, Lehigh, Mansfield
About the Bison
• Bucknell will host two teams – Lehigh and Mansfield – for the Bison Tuneup on Friday.
• Friday's race will have both the women and men running at the same time. Runners will be competing in three different distances – 4k, 6k, or 8k.
• The Bison ran in two races last weekend. Junior Jacob Stupak led the Bison at the Penn State National Open, finishing 68th out of 206 runners in a field that included six nationally-ranked teams.
• Bucknell also sent runners to the Gettysburg Invitational, where Matthew Vira took 32nd and Terryl Ferrell was 34th out of 276 to lead the Bison to a sixth-place finish out of 28 teams.
• Friday's meet will be the team's final competition before it hosts the Patriot League Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Quote from Head Coach Kevin Donner
"This weekend gives our athletes who are not running the league meet or the NCAA regional one more racing opportunity. It's a pretty small meet with Lehigh men, Lafayette women, Mansfield and ourselves. I wanted to have the golf course portion of the Patriot League course available for a course preview for next week and workouts. It's a dry run to see how the course runs for next week and an opportunity for some of our runners to get some extra racing experience."
