Bucknell at a Glance
• Bucknell is currently 0-1 (0-1 Patriot League) on the season after falling to Boston University, 182-114, in its Patriot League opener on Oct. 13. Chadd Cummings (100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke), Liam Pitt (50 freestyle 100 butterfly), Matt McGoey (200 IM) and Garrett Sommer (3-meter dive) scored individual titles for the Bison, who totaled 16 top-three finishes.
• In 2017-18, the Bison went 2-7 (2-4 Patriot League). They placed third (411 points) at the 10-team Patriot League Championships and ninth (177 points) at the 21-team ECAC Championships, a one spot improvement at both events from the 2016-17 campaign.
• Chris Devlin (1st) and McGoey (2nd) were Bucknell's 2018 All-Patriot League honorees.
• The Bison returned two school record holders: Cummings (100 breaststroke, 54.65) and McGoey (200 IM, 1:47.84). In addition, returnees Cummings (200 medley, 400 medley), Charlie McFarland (200 medley, 400 medley, 400 freestyle) and Jacob Lubinski (400 medley) were members of school record setting relay teams.
• Bucknell lost Devlin, a four-time All-Patriot League First Team selection and two-time Swimmer of the Patriot League Championships, to graduation. Devlin left Lewisburg as the school record holder in three events and as the owner of six Patriot League individual titles.
• The program welcomed eight newcomers in 2018-19. They hail from eight different states: Colorado, Idaho, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Bison Host Reception for HomecomingÂ
• Following their Homecoming meet against the Blue Jays, the Bison will host a reception for parents, alumni and friends of the program in the McGee Room.
Johns Hopkins at a Glance/Series History
• Johns Hopkins is currently 1-1 on the season after topping Delaware (189-90) and falling to UMBC (125-163) on Oct. 6. The Blue Jays will face Navy, Towson and William & Mary the afternoon before they take on the Bison.
• Johns Hopkins placed fourth at the 2018 NCAA Division III Championships with 287 points. Eleven Blue Jays combined to capture 35 All-America laurels.
• Brandon Fabian, now a junior, and Emile Kuyl, now a senior, earned the maximum seven All-America honors a year ago. Fabian is the reigning DIII champion in the 200 freestyle.
• Johns Hopkins finished fourth at the NCAA championship meet four of the past five years, including the past three in a row.
• This will be the first meeting between the Bison and Blue Jays.
A Look Ahead
• After having a week off, Bucknell returns to Kinney Natatorium on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 12 p.m. for a quad meet against Patriot League foes American, Lafayette and Navy.
