
No. 17 Men's Water Polo Drops Narrow Decision to No. 14 Princeton

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Bucknell University men's water polo team fell 12-11 against Princeton in the third game of the Harvard Invitational on Sunday morning after a late Princeton rally.
The loss for the Bison snaps a seven-game winning streak for Bucknell, and gives the Bison just their third loss in 18 games.
The one-goal loss was the third time in the last four games for the Bison that a match was decided by one goal.
The Bison started fast; with Rade Joksimovic netting three of his team-leading six goals in the match in the first period to give Bucknell a 4-2 lead after one. Joksimovic's last goal came with just three seconds on the clock on an assist from Jack Lewis.
The Bison scored the next two goals in the second period to extend their lead to 6-2, with Marko Djordjevic and Cooper Dolan each finding the back of the cage to give the Bison their largest advantage with 6:42 to play in the second quarter. The Bison managed to retain the four-goal lead heading into the halftime break after Logan Schofield netted with 21 seconds left to give Bucknell an 8-4 lead.
A goal from Joksimovic at the 5:01 mark in the third quarter brought the Bison lead to 9-5, but Princeton went on a 3-0 run to trim the Bucknell's advantage to 1, 9-8, at the end of the third quarter.
Jared Stanley found the back of the cage with 6:15 left in the fourth to once again give Bucknell a two-goal advantage, but Princeton's Matt Payne scored just 24 seconds later to make the score 10-9 in favor of the Bison.
Payne scored again with 4:52 remaining to give the Tigers their first tie of the game since the score was 1-1 at the 3:10 mark of the first quarter.
Back-to-back goals from Princeton then gave the Tigers a 12-10 lead with just 38 seconds left.
Joksimovic managed to answer right back for Bucknell with a goal with 29 seconds left, but Princeton held on to give the Bison their first loss since Sept. 29.
Joksimovic scored six times for the second consecutive game, while Marko Djordjevic added two goals and one assist.
