About the Bison
• Bucknell will send 11 runners to the Penn State National Open on Friday and 15 runners to the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday.
• The Bison took 10th out of 17 teams at the Penn State National Open last season, finishing ahead of Buffalo, William & Mary, Akron, Lehigh, UC Davis, Kent State, and Loyola (Md.).
• Colleen Buckley finished 24th out of 177 runners. Other current members of the team to finish in the top 100 were Jenna Farmer (58th), Margaret Thomson (87th), and Lauren Gronbeck (98th).
• Bucknell last competed at the Gettysburg Invitational in 2014. The Bison won the team title.
• The Bison's last competition was the Paul Short Run on Sept. 29. Jenna Farmer was the team's top runner in 69th.
About the Penn State National Open
• The participating teams are Akron, Boston College, Brown, Bucknell, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duquesne, Eastern Kentucky, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Iona, James Madison, Kentucky, Lehigh, Loyola, Michigan State, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio University, Penn, Penn State, Pitt, Princeton, Rutgers, Utah, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.
• The field will include five nationally-ranked teams – No. 14 Michigan State, No. 19 Penn State, No. 26 Georgia Tech, No. 27 Utah, No. 29 Princeton. Additionally, Dartmouth and Georgetown are receiving votes in the national poll.
• Penn State won the team title last year. Villanova's Bella Burda was the individual champion.
