Lewisburg, Pa. - The Bucknell women's track and field team wrapped up competition Friday on day one of the Bison Open & Multi at Gerhard Fieldhouse.
The highlight of the meet for the Bison was their distance medley relay that consisted of four freshmen in Payton Capes, Jennifer Dietrich, Tiara Tardy, and Madeleine Hunt. The team finished in first place with an ECAC-qualifying standard of 12:08.17.
Kaitlin Salisbury looked strong in the 200-meter dash, finishing in second place in a field of 49 competitors, clocking in at 25.60. The hurdlers took care of business for the Bison as Kafilat Oladiran (9.34), Cayleigh Glew (9.46), and Isabella Bjorkeson (9.57) all finished in the top 10.
Chloe Brown placed second in the pole vault, clearing 3.40 meters.
“It was a solid first day. The highlight of the meet was that our all-freshman women's Distance Medley Relay won and qualified for ECAC. It was also great to see Salisbury back in form in the 200, and our hurdlers all looked great,” head coach Kevin Donner said.
Penn State National
University Park, Pa. – The Bison women also competed on the first day of the Penn State National Open on Friday at Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
Molly Montalvo finished in the top-10 of the weight throw against some tough competition at PSU. She tossed the 20 lb. weight 47-1 ½ feet.
