MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Sophomore Nick King finished a cross from freshman Matt Thorsheim in the 85th minute, lifting the Bucknell men's soccer team to a 1-1 draw at Robert Morris on Saturday afternoon. King's second tally of the season helped the Bison rescue a point in the first of a four-game road trip.
Bucknell moved to 2-2-1 on the season, allowing one goal or fewer for the fourth time in five games. Ryan Ott tallied six saves, one coming in extra time.
The Bison peppered the Colonials net for 21 total shots, 11 on frame. Winter Fondi made nine saves, five coming in overtime, including a terrific diving save on Stefan Krystman. A goal on the rebound was waved off for offsides. Robert Morris also cleared a ball off the line late in regulation when it was still a 1-0 game.
Bucknell cashed in with 5:48 remaining, when Thorsheim's low cross was one-timed home by King. It was Thorsheim's second assist of ther season, both coming on goals by King.
The Bison have another non-conference road game on Tuesday at St. Peter's before opening up Patriot League play at Lafayette next Saturday.
