Oladiran Wins 60 Hurdles on Day One of Bison Open & Multi

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Kafilat Oladiran posted her third victory of the year with a first-place finish in the 60 hurdles to lead the Bucknell women's track and field team Friday on day one of the Bison Open & Multi at Gerhard Fieldhouse.
Oladiran, the school-record holder in the event, advanced past the prelims with a time of 9.06. In the finals, she beat out the top six qualifiers in 8.85, a season best.
Ella Schultz took fourth of 37 in the shot put, posting a heave of 42-5 ½. Stephanie Easse and Jenna Phillips finished in the top-10, placing eighth and ninth, respectively.
Taylor Kennedy will compete in Saturday's final of the 200m, qualifying in the prelims with a mark of 26.45.
PENN STATE NATIONAL
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Colleen Buckley etched a spot onto Bucknell's all-time list on Friday following day one of the Penn State National Open at Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
Buckley was the runner-up in a field of 20 participants in the 5,000-meter invite, posting an ECAC-qualifying mark of 17:15.46. Kate Scott, the program-record holder in the race, placed fourth in the event with a time of 17:24.73, also meeting the ECAC standard.
Kaitlin Salisbury qualified for the 60m semis, advancing past the prelims in 7.82. In the semifinals, she clocked a time of 7.77, just 0.04 short of reaching the finals.
Both the Penn State National and Bison Open & Multi will conclude with a second day of competition on Saturday.
