About the Bison
>> Bucknell will be playing in its second tournament of the season, following a sixth-place finish at Colgate last week. The Bison posted team scores of 308-303-301 for a 912 total. The final-round 301 was the second-best score in the field that day.
>> Head coach Michael Binney will send out two five-man teams this weekend. The “A” squad will consist of J.P. Raftery, Peter Bradbeer, Connor O'Brien, John Edler and Jubal Early. Playing for the “B” team will be Ashton Radvansky, D.J. Magee, J.B. Thompson, C.J. Zachary and Zachary Melnick.
>> Raftery picked right up where he left off at the end of last season, when he was runner-up at the Patriot League Championship. At Colgate last week he compiled a 4-over-par 220 (74-72-74), good for a T-5th finish.
>> Bradbeer made his collegiate debut as an individual at Colgate and also turned in a top-10 finish. He was T-8th after rounds of 76-71-74. The 1-under 71 in the second round was Bucknell's low round of the weekend.
>> After struggling a bit on Saturday, Edler closed with an even-par 72 in Sunday's final round. That was Bucknell's best score of the day.
The Bucknell Invitational
>> Bucknell has been very successful in its home tournament in recent years, winning six of the last 13 titles. The Bison had won it four years in a row (2007-10) before finishing fourth, second, fourth, sixth and third over the last five seasons.
>> Bucknell's two five-man teams finished third and fourth here last year. Melnick was runner-up individually, shooting 69-72 to finish at 1-over. Zachary was third at +2 (71-71), while O'Brien (74-71) and Raftery (73-73) finished 10th and 11th, respectively.
>> Robert Morris is the defending champion. The Colonials compiled rounds of 289-285 to hold off runner-up Lafayette by two shots. Lafayette's Patrick Luther claimed the 2015 individual title at -2 under (68-70).
Up Next
>> Bucknell returns to action next Saturday and Sunday at the Cornell Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones GC in Ithaca, New York.
