Women?s Track and Field Set for ECAC Championships in Boston

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's track and field team wraps up the indoor season with the ECAC Championships on Saturday-Sunday at Boston University's Track and Field Center.
“We are always excited about the IC4A-ECAC Championships,” says head coach Kevin Donner. “It's a great test to see how our athletes compare with the rest of the east coast outside the Patriot League. We will be focusing on individual events rather than the relays. However, we do plan to run in some of the relays using other people to gain valuable experience and to get them on the same track that the 2017 league championships will be held on. A top-10 finish for both genders is a good possibility.”
The top eight finishers in each event will receive All-East honors. The Bison earned five All-East accolades, including four current members of the team.
Abigail Brundage received individual All-East recognition for her performance in the shot put, taking seventh out of 20. Allison Sharkey, Elyse Pettaway and Jen Silvestri each earned All-East honors after running legs on the 4x400-meter relay team that finished seventh.
Set to compete this weekend include Christine Bendzinski (3,000m), Jess Bridle (400m), Brundage (shot put), Sarah Chandler (1,000m), Sophia Nnadi (shot put, weight throw), Kafilat Oladiran (60m hurdles) and Kate Scott (3,000m, 5,000m) and Alison Varano (pentathlon).
