LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women's track and field senior Jess Bridle was named M-F Athletic Patriot League Female Track Athlete of the Week on Monday, following an impressive performance at the Jim Taylor Invitational.
The senior picked up where she left off following a fantastic indoor season, winning the 200-meter title. Bridle took first in a field of 44 runners with an ECAC-qualifying time of 24.70. The time was the third-fastest in program history and the second-best mark in the Patriot League this season.
Bridle, along with Kafilat Oladiran, Carly Reiner and Kimberley Lapszynski, teamed up to compete in the 4x100 relay. The quartet took first place, winning the event in 48.14.
Overall, it was a solid opening weekend for the Bison, as the two teams combined to win 22 events at the meet, while members of both squads qualified for the ECAC and IC4A Outdoor Championships.
The Bucknell track and field team returns to action Apr. 1-2 to compete at the Colonial Relays.
