LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Academic All-PL Team was announced on Friday, and representing Bucknell are seniors Nora Adams and Sophia Nnadi, and sophomore Christine Bendzinski. Adams, Nnadi and Bendzinski took three of the 10 spots on the academic squad, the most of any school in the conference.
Adams, the 2015 Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year, was the only student-athlete to post a perfect 4.0 GPA on the academic team. A double-major in linguistics and psychology, she has now earned Academic All-PL accolades twice in her career. Adams is a seven-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection in cross country and track and field, while earning the President's Award for Distinguished Academic Excellence. Adams competed in last weekend's Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships, finishing in the top-10 of the 3,000-meter run.
Nnadi, an International Relations and French double-major, received Academic All-PL accolades for the second time in her career after earning Women's Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors last season. A Dean's List student, the senior has also qualified for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in each of her four seasons at Bucknell.
Nnadi had a fantastic performance at the indoor championships, receiving First Team All-PL accolades in the weight throw and Second Team honors in the shot put to help the team to a second place finish.
Bendzinski continues to add to her resume, earning her second-career Academic All-PL nod. A biology and biochemistry major, Bendzinski put together a strong performance at last week's Patriot League championships. She helped the 4x800-meter relay team set school and league records (8:53.53), while also taking first in the mile and finishing second in the 1,000.
Members of the team will return to action on Mar. 5-6 with a trip to Boston, Massachusetts, to compete in the ECAC Indoor Championships.
