Bison Women Win Nine Events at the Bucknell Tune-Up

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women's track and field senior Jess Bridle continues to set school records in her final indoor season, and added the 60m dash to her list on Friday at the Bucknell Tune-Up. Bridle ran a time of 7.74, tying the school record set by Sasha Hornock in 2012. Her run was 0.06-short of breaking the facility record.
Bridle was one of nine individual winners in the team's final meet before the Patriot League Championships next weekend.
Reigning Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week Sophia Nnadi won a pair of titles at the meet. Nnadi took the top spot in the weight throw, beating out 20 throwers with a toss of 53-10 ½. Her throw is a personal-best, and is the sixth-best effort in program history. She followed up her performance with a first place finish in the shot put, recording a heave of 46-6.
Kafilat Oladiran took first in the 60m hurdles, crossing the line in 8.80. Oladiran also finished as the runner-up in the 60m dash with a time of 7.83. Her time is a personal-best and ranks sixth in school history.
In a field of 14 runners, Chrissy Haney and Laura Papili tied for first in the 400m, each finishing with a time of 59.62. Emma Harris earned the top spot in the 800m run, beating out 21 participants with a time of 2:16.47. Deanna Godby earned the 3,000m title, beating 12 runners with a time of 10:08.25.
Chloe Brown won the pole vault title, clearing 11-3 ¾, which is a top-10 effort in the record books. Alexis Auman competed in the triple jump, winning the title with a leap of 36-7.
Kimberley Lapszynski was the runner-up in the long jump, recording a leap of 18-4 ½. Devon McDonald took third in the event with a jump of 18-3 ¾. Her leap is a personal-best and ranks ninth in school history.
The Patriot League Championships will be held at Boston University on Feb. 19-21.
