Devlin, Behnen Establish NCAA "B" Qualifying Times at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell junior Chris Devlin and senior Louis Behnen each established NCAA “B” qualifying times for the Bison men's swimming and diving team on the final day of the Bucknell Invitational. The Bison finished sixth overall, while Towson won the team title with 1,271.5 points.
Devlin won the title in the 200 back with an NCAA “B” qualifying time of 1:45.01. That was more than three seconds faster than the runner-up, La Salle's Fabian Bergman. Bucknell senior Jack Robinson joined Devlin in the “A” final and took seventh.
Behnen's “B” qualifying time came while swimming 15:28.53 and finishing second in the 1,650 free. Junior Sam Rutan was 16th in the event.
In the 200 breast, sophomore Chadd Cummings was fourth, while his teammates, senior Sam Mackie, and junior Tarik Lott were 13th and 16th, respectively.
Senior Denver Freeman made the “A” final in the 200 fly, finishing in eighth.
The 400 free relay team of Robinson, sophomore Charlie McFarland, Behnen and Devlin had a solid showing with a fifth-place finish.
The Bison have more than a month off until their next competition, a home meet against Patriot League foe Loyola (Md.) on Jan. 13.
