LEWISBURG, Pa. – Four former Bucknell softball greats have been named to the Patriot League 25th Anniversary Team, which was released by the conference on Thursday. Lisa Fink '93, Jenny Snyder '99, Lauren Wible '06 and Kristen Zahn '15 all earned Patriot League Player of the Year honors during their career and were listed among the league's 25 best players.
Fink was a two-sport standout at Bucknell, starring for the softball team and leading the defensive effort as a guard on the basketball team. She was the Patriot League Player of the Year in 1993 and was voted to the All-Patriot League First Team in each of her three seasons in the conference. Fink was a great all-around player. She still holds the Bucknell career record for runs scored (146) and stolen bases (90), and held the record for most career hits (205) until it was broken this past season. She broke 10 single-season program records during her career and held six career records at the time of her graduation. She was also a Patriot League All-Decade honoree and was inducted into the Bucknell Hall of Fame in 2003.
During her senior season, Fink guided Bucknell to a 27-8 record, which still stands as the best winning percentage in program history. In addition to Player of the Year honors, she was also recognized as the Patriot League Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
The 1999 Patriot League Player of the Year, Snyder was the first Bison player to be voted to the All-Patriot League Team four times, including the First Team three times. She led the team to its first ever league title in 1997. Snyder was also a Patriot League All-Decade selection thanks to a career that resulted in her holding 15 school records when she graduated. She still holds the program record of 47 career doubles and is third all-time with 189 hits.
Wible is also one of just four Bucknell players to be named All-Patriot League four times, two of which were First Team honors. She was the 2005 Patriot League Player of the Year after having one of the best offensive seasons in league history. She led the nation with a .524 batting average that season.
In addition to being one of the league's all-time greats on the field, Wible was also one of the league's top academic performers. Following the 2005 season, she was named the Patriot League Female and Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She is still the only softball player in league history to win the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award and went on to be named an Academic All-American.
Zahn put the finishing touches on an outstanding career by being named the Patriot League Player of the Year last season. It was her third All-Patriot League recognition and was fueled by a school record 53 RBIs, which also ranks second in league history. Zahn leaves Bucknell with her name in the top 10 for career batting average (.349), home runs (15), RBIs (104) and runs scored (86). Zahn was voted NFCA All-Region and as an ECAC First Team All-Star, in addition to earning a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Team for the second time.
