Men's Tennis Adds Two Players in 2015-16

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell head coach Craig Schwartz has announced the addition of two recruits to the men's tennis team. Max McDonald and Andrei Vitiuc will join the Bison for the 2015-16 season, joining a promising team that lost just one senior from a year ago.
“I am very pleased with the class that we have coming in,” Schwartz said. “I believe that each incoming student-athlete has a great shot to crack the lineup in both singles and doubles. This class will give us the overall depth that we were missing this past season. It is a really exciting time to for the Bison men's tennis program.”
The Bison finished last season 14-9 overall, an 11-win improvement from a year ago. They were 3-2 in the conference and went 1-1 in the Patriot League Tournament, beating Colgate in the quarterfinals before falling to Army West Point in the semifinals.

Max McDonald | Summit, N.J. (Summit H.S.)
Born Jan. 23, 1996 in State College, Pennsylvania … son of Ian and Patty McDonald … has three siblings, Ryan, Alex and Brendan … four-year team MVP while playing No. 1 singles at Summit High School … school's men's tennis MVP award was named in his honor … two-time All-State Group 3, including First Team honors as a senior … three-time First Team All-Union County, including Player of the Year honors after completing an undefeated regular season his senior year … two-year team captain … led Summit to New Jersey Group 3 state title.
Andrei Vitiuc | Bucharest, Romania (Elena Cuza H.S.)
Born Dec. 19, 1996 in Bucharest, Romania … son of Cristian and Catalina Vitiuc … national rankings in Romania included No. 55 in men's, No. 17 in U18, No. 32 in U16 and No. 3 in U14 … won seven singles national tournament titles and one doubles title … had two third-place finishes at the Championship of Bucharest … his tennis club ranked in the top 12 nationally … was a three-year member of his high school team that was ranked in the top four in the region … also played high school volleyball, handball and basketball.
