PRINCETON, N.J. – Kate Scott earned All-East honors with a fifth-place finish in the 10,000-meter run on Friday as the Bucknell women's track and field team completed the first of three days of competition at the ECAC Championships at Princeton University's Weaver Stadium.
Scott, the Patriot League champion in the event, crossed the line in 35:39.30 to take fifth among 32 runners. Montana DiPietrantonio took 11th with a time of 36:31.20, the eighth-fastest run in school history. Kate VanNess gave the Bison a trio of quality runs with a 15th-place finish.
Sophia Nnadi and Stephanie Easse competed in the discus for Bucknell, taking 13th and 18th, respectively. Deanna Godby rounded out the Bison athletes to compete on the first day with a 17th-place finish in the 5,000-meter run.
“It was a pretty solid evening,” said Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner. “Nnadi finished well ahead of her seed in the discus to make the final. Scott ran a solid race to finish fifth. What a nice season for her as a sophomore. It was nice to see a good PR by Montana in her last race at Bucknell.”
