LEWISBURG, Pa. – A pair of Bucknell women's track and field athletes received weekly awards from the Patriot League following their results at the Bison Outdoor Classic, held at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium over the weekend.
Sophomore Kate Scott was selected as the M-F Atletic Female Track Athlete of the Week, while freshman Efe Agege earned M-F Athletic Female Rookie of the Week honors.
Scott placed second in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 16:52.80, which beat the ECAC standard by nearly 24 seconds. It was the third-fastest time in the event in the Patriot League this season and second all-time at Bucknell. Scott is named M-F Athletic Patriot League Female Track Athlete of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks. The first came after a strong performance at the Raleigh Relays.
Agege placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 39-6, narrowly missing the ECAC standard of 39-6 ½. She recorded the top triple jump in the Patriot League this season.
The Bison will be back at their home facility when they host the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday.
