DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Backed by a 77 from sophomore Emily Larson and a 79 from freshman Lindsay Dodovich, the Bucknell women's golf team opened play at the Lonnie Barton Invitational at LPGA International with a season-best round of 320 on Monday. The Bison are tied for fourth place in a field of 14.
Larson missed her career-best score by one shot on Monday at the Jones Course at LPGA International. Dodovich was coming off a career-low 76 in the final round at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Classic last week, and she made it two straight rounds in the 70s. Larson and Dodovich made two birdies apiece, and each played the par-3s in 1-under for the day.
Junior Jen Lee made 11 pars en route to an 80, and sophomore Nicole Mischler was Bucknell's fourth counter with an 84.
St. John's is the 18-hole leader after posting a 302. The Red Storm have the three low individuals, as Daniella Castandeda (72), Cameron Lambertson (73) and Anna Kim (74) rank 1-2-3.
Albany is second at 317, followed by tournament host Long Island at 319. Bucknell and Saint Francis (Pa.) are tied for fourth place at 320. Patriot League rival Lehigh is tied for seventh after compiling a 324.
The tournament resumes Tuesday with an 8:30 shotgun start.
